ลักษณะ :

ไม้รอเลื้อยขนาดกลาง ใบ เดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปรีแกมขอบ ขนาน ขนาดกว้าง 3.5-4.5 ซม. ยาว 11-15 ซม. ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบมนหรือรูปลิ่ม ขอบใบเรียบ หลังใบมีเส้นใบเด่นชัดและมีขน สีน้ำตาลปกคลุมหนาแน่น ดอก สีเหลือง ออกเดี่ยวหรือเป็นกระจุก 2-5 ดอก ตามกิ่งด้านตรงกันข้ามกับใบ กลีบเลี้ยงสีเขียว 3 กลีบ มีขนาดเล็ก กลีบดอก 6 กลีบ เรียงเป็น 2 ชั้น ชั้นละ 3 กลีบ ชั้นนอกรูปไข่แกมหอก ขนาด 14-16 มม. ชั้นในรูปสามเหลี่ยม ขนาดเล็กกว่าชั้นนอก โคนกลีบสีแดง เกสรผู้สีแดงจำนวนมาก ผล เป็นผลกลุ่ม มีผลย่อยได้ถึง 12 ผล สีน้ำตาล เปลือกหนา มีขนอ่อนนุ่ม

Characteristics :

Scandent shrub. Leaves simple, alternate, elliptic-oblong, 11-15 cm long by 3.5-4.5 cm wide, densely brownish pubescent beneath; margin entire; secondary veins distinct on lower surface. Inflorescence solitary or 2-5 flowered fascicles. Flowers yellow; calyx 3, green, small; petals 6, arrange in 2 whorls, outer ovate-lanceolate, 14-16 mm long, inner triangular, shorter than the outer ones, reddish at base; stamens red, numerous. Fruit aggregate, monocarps up to 12, brown, thick, pubescent.

Flower has a strong fragrance. Decoction from the bark or decoction in spirit maceration used for detoxification.
